BLUE  FLOWER

Has anyone seen the sun it feels cold

I’m afraid of what lies ahead

What’s this world coming to when we can’t talk

or work things through

so much anger so much suffering

My heart it aches it loves it breaks

deep inside love grows a vine

The hope I carry is in each breath that I take

 reaching for the unreachable

toward the sun toward the sun like a blue flower

Time slips away through humanities arms

like that moment in a deep long kiss

This is about us we all wrote this song

maybe someday we’ll trust ourselves

to open our eyes

My heart it aches it loves it breaks

deep inside love grows a vine

The hope I carry is in each breath that I take

 reaching for the unreachable

toward the sun toward the sun like a blue flower

toward the sun like a blue flower

My heart it aches it loves it breaks

deep inside love grows a vine

The hope I carry is in each breath that I take

 reaching for the unreachable

toward the sun toward the sun like a blue flower

toward the sun like a blue flower

toward the sun toward the sun like a  blue flower

toward the sun like a blue flower

New Mexico

Shared memories kin spirits of the road

south west bound in a Fleetwood Brougham

Driving all night long in cruise control

your long hair flowing out the window

I remember waking from the back seat

seeing the deserts early morning dew

A silver blanket met the horizons edge

sunlit diamonds glistened on the sage

I will always think of you in New Mexico

It will be November Thanksgiving time

With the scent of pinion smoke in mountain air

I know how much you loved it there

I will feel you walking close by my side

hold your words and wisdom dear

On these dusty roads I may break and cry

but In my heart you will never die

I will feel you walking close by my side

hold your words and wisdom dear

On these dusty roads I may break and cry

but In my heart you will never die

You will always be a part of New Mexico

  dancing underneath the rabbit moon

Walking through the amber glow of cotton woods

You lived for the blaze of red sunsets

I will always think of you In New Mexico

It will be November Thanksgiving time

with the scent of pinion smoke in mountain air

I know how much you loved it there

I know how much you loved it there

I know how much you loved it there

I know how much you loved it there

I know how much you loved it there

Wandering The Highway

I threw away all we had I threw away the time

What was I thinking when I left you behind

I can blame it on my past

or that I have a reckless side

I seem to have a habit of rocking the boat

on the smoothest ride

Now I'm wandering the highway

blinded by the headlights broken needing you

Too many days like this living like a fool

so much I risked

Will I live my days filled with regret

will your love be my safety net

Wouldn't it be a nice surprise if you took me back

So I guess I'll survive

now that I've climbed out from underneath the lies

only to realize how much I miss you

Now I'm wandering the highway

blinded by the headlights broken needing you

Too many days like this living like a fool

all I ever wanted was to be loved by you

Now I'm wandering the highway

blinded by the headlights broken needing you

Too many days like this living like a fool

so much I risked

Now I'm wandering the highway

blinded by the headlights broken needing you

Too many days like this living like a fool

all I ever wanted was to be loved by you

Loma Bonita

Bougainvillea flowers purple and white

two shades of pink are everywhere in sight

How they grow I just don’t know In

this dry earth In this dry earth

Thin dogs lay on the cool dirt ground

dreaming only things that dogs know how

Workers driving’ off in the back of a truck

a full days work for a couple of bucks

Ground shakes pounding surf there’s an

endlessness to the horizon and the earth

Mexico Loma Bonita

Mexico con la vista del mar y del sol

Mexico Loma Bonita

Mexico con la vista del mar y del sol

A man walks by in clean white clothes

in the shade of his cowboy hat

through the smokef a fire

on the side of the road

through the smoke of fire

on the side of the road

Smoke stings your eyes burns your throat

but it doesn’t bother him or dirty his coat

He’s on his way through the smoke and clouds

he’s on his way he goin to pray

Sleepy towns sleep donkey in the headlights

big wooden cross on the wall in the candlelight

Mexico Loma Bonita

Mexico con la vista del mar y del sol

Mexico Loma Bonita

Mexico con la vista del mar y del sol

Long black hair flips in the wind

a pink belt sparkles on a dusty road

Chica walks past the mango tree

a cat naps under a chair in the breeze

Black and yellow birds dip and dive

catchin’ bugs on a winding drive

Down to the beach where the air is cooler

gotta get down where the air is cooler

Sea birds glide palm trees sway

Moody skies turn shades of gray

Mexico Loma Bonita Mexico con la vista del mar y del sol

Stuck In A Beautiful Place

©2015 by Terry Winchell

Lately life's punches are wearing kinda thin

were not getting any younger surviving each tail spin

We both love one another we're joined at the hip

we can count on that forever it’s a reinforced friendship

This isn't our cup of tea it doesn't fit quite right

this tryin to build a nest egg when your living so dam tight

Well the cards may seem against us we keep dreaming of an ace

Our love will keep us strong we're just stuck in a beautiful place

There once was a small town where I use to walk to school

Now it's all real estate and image you buy a house because its cool

If your not loaded up with money you’re a member of the staff

working long hours its not funny but you laugh

This place has its upside Its pretty and it feels safe

But at the end of a long hard day

Mr. Money steals your parking space

Well the cards may seem against us we keep dreaming of an ace

Our love will keep us strong we're just stuck in a beautiful place

Got no money to leave here and we can’t afford to stay

it’s a hard way to live each and every day

We’re just part of the food chain what Gandhi said was true

There’s enough for every ones need but not enough for every ones greed

So you put your pride aside barely make ends meet

try not to feel bitter while you’re staring at the top of your feet

Well the cards may seem against us we keep dreaming of an ace

Our love will keep us strong we're just stuck in a beautiful place

we're just stuck in a beautiful place

we're just stuck in a beautiful place

we're just stuck in a beautiful place

There Goes Time

©2015 by Terry Winchell

There never seems to be enough time

I start out early I stay up late

Sometimes I catch up sometimes I don’t

Time always wins this human race

There goes time just under a mile

There goes time in lightspeed

There goes time in continuence

There goes time

My dog gives his whole heart he wants to please

he stays by my side he’s along for the ride

Someday he’’ll slow down and sleep longer days

showing his age face turning gray

There goes time in a life span

There goes time only love can last for ever

There goes time with my good friend

There goes time

The less you have the more you think about it

we learn to swim through that’s what we do

Regrets will fade when we don’t look back

I use to run into friends on the old Main street

havent seen a face that I know in a week

Those who grew up here can’t afford to stay

they say money’s the reason it’s harder lately

There goes tIme moving away

There goes time leaving someone behind

There goes time with lifes choices

There goes time changing things

There goes time in the now and then

There goes time never knowing where it’s going

or where it’s been There goes time

while I’m standing still

There goes time

Tiny Love

©2015 by Terry Winchell

Heartbeat sweet light

blinked a night sky

the brightest star

Universe a ruin verse

diamonds mist the milky way as if to say

tiny love tiny love twinkling above

I see you tiny love

la la la la la la la la la la la la la

Sunshine summertime

sleepy afternoons honeysuckle blooms

Cloud burst earth spins

dancing colors make a rainbow sing

blue butterflies wing

tiny love tiny love the sound of love

I hear you tiny love

tiny love tiny love twinkling above tiny love

tiny love tiny love

the brightest star

la la la la la la la la la la la la La

la la la la la la la la la la la la la
