Terry Winchell & The Fine Line

Terry Winchell & The Fine Line Electronic Press Kit Out of the blue and right on time, three impassioned musicians connected for all the right artistic reasons. Welcome to my music website Let me introduce my bandmates the Fine Lines. I’ll start with Jim Goodkind (lead guitar and vocals). Jim’s impressive resume includes recordings with renowned bandmates of Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison to name a few. Along with Ric Ocasek and Ben Orr of The Cars, he was a founding member of the folk group Milkwood on Paramount Records. Originally from Clovis, NM, Jay Leutwyler (bassist and vocalist) was signed at 16 years old to the Atco record label with his band, Group Axis. Jay has played professionally with many popular southwest bands over the years, including Dem Bones, a favorite in the Albuquerque area, which released several studio and live albums. A real chemistry was apparent right from our first rehearsal. Combining my original songs, our similar sensibilities, and our many artistic commonalities creating a magical effect. The Trio’s songs feature ,Jim's melodic lead guitar, Jay’s Hofner bass sound, and my lead vocals and rhythm guitar—all the while supporting three-part harmony, as well as seamless singing on the duets. Our sets consist of my original eclectic songs mixed in with unique covers of favorite artists in the Americana genre. It’s bluesy, it's folk, it’s country rock—at times it’s ethereal—with plenty of upbeat, shake yo’ tail feather danceable tunes. We are excited about playing live shows, as well as producing recordings, in the near future . For more infomation about bio's ,music, videos lease scroll this page or click on page links above. Terry Winchell

Singer-songwriter Terry Winchell grew up on the East End of Long Island, New York, surrounded by farmland and the ocean. From the beginning, her love of nature and her experience as a traveling balladeer have infused her music. Terry developed an eclectic style early on, and many influences still run through her music today. Joni Mitchell, Neil Young ,Otis Redding,  Bonnie Raitt, to name a few, contributed to her growth as an artist. Terry brings the richness of her life experience to the recording studio, air waves, and stage.  She has an extensive musical career background, performing at large and intimate venues, both as a headliner and opening act in the USA and abroad. She has opened for John Hammond, Taj Mahal, Hot Tuna, Laura Nyro, Pete Seeger, Lenny Kravitz, and many other artists. Terry’s songwriting and music opens vistas that draw from her personal life experience and reach out to the universal. On the heels of releasing her  album “Blue Flower,” Terry moved to the Southwest and now makes her home in Corrales, New Mexico .

James Goodkind

Since learning guitar as a teenager in the mid ‘60s from Chicago blues great Harvey Mandel (Charlie Musselwhite, Canned Heat, Rolling Stones), Jim Goodkind went on to play, record, and tour with bandmates of Bruce Springsteen, Bonnie Raitt, Van Morrison, The Chambers Brothers, The Cars, and a variety of singers and songwriters.  Currently living in Corrales, New Mexico, he is originally from New York and  has lived in Chicago and San Francisco.   After a hiatus to make a living as an executive for a printing/packaging company catering to the entertainment business, Jim has returned to the guitar, his original love.

Jay Leutwyler

Originally from North Texas, Jay grew up in Clovis, New Mexico. As a teenager, Jay learned to play bass guitar from Stan Lark of the Fireballs before joining his first band, The Shi Guys, in Clovis. Then in the late 60’s, he formed Group Axis, which recorded at the Norman Petty Studios in Clovis and landed a recording contract with Atco Records. After several years of touring with Group Axis until they disbanded, Jay went to Cleveland, Ohio, where he joined the Andrew Rollins Band, which recorded at the Suma Recording Studio. Upon returning to New Mexico, Jay hooked up with Dem Bones in Albuquerque, where they recorded two studio albums and two live albums during their tenure on the local club circuit.
